"Let Love Lead The Way..."

When I surf through the internet to look for latest songs recently, I come across a song “Let Love Lead The Way” by Spice Girls. To my surprise, the song has been aired for quite sometimes already, may be a year or more. For a typical outdated guy like me only found it only few days before. Haiz….

Anyway, back to the song, I would say that is the best song I ever heard from this group after “Goodbye”. The melody is so nice and the lyric, GOSH! Really chills me to the bone. I like the part when Emma sings in the second chorus, especially “You’re here…. You’re gone”, so SEXY!! The music video is gorgeous too. They utilize the elements of nature: Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. Truly fascinating. All four spices look HOT.

I salute Spice Girls for being able to sustain their popularity until today since the time I have known them through the song, “Wannabe” when I was seven where most of the groups at that time have already broken up few years after that.

What makes this world go round
Will the answer let her down
She is so sweet and young
And her life has just begun
What does her future hold that's the story left unknown
Will she make it through her days,
let our love lead the way

Part of me laughs (ooooh)
Part of me cries
Part of me wants to question why (question why)
Why is there joy
Why is there pain
Why is there sunshine and the rain
One day you're here
Next you are gone
No matter what we must go on
Just keep the faith
And let love lead the way
Everthing will work out fine
If you let love,
love lead the way

Sitting there all alone
In the window of her room
Watching the world go by
Brings tears to her eyes
All she sees is hurt and pain,
she wants to break the chain
She'll keep pressing everyday
and she'll find her own sweet way

Part of me laughs (me laughs now)
Part of me cries (I cry)
Part of me wants to question why (wants to question why)
Why is there joy
Why is there pain (so much pain)
Why is there sunshine and the rain
One day you're here (you're here)
Next you are gone (you're gone)
No matter what we must go on (I will go on)
Just keep the faith (keep your faith)
And let love lead the way (I know, I know, I know, ooh whoa)

You can be all that and still can be who you are
You gotta know for sure that it isn't make believe
You may feel weak but you are strong
Don't you give up if
If you keep holding on,
you'll never be wrong
Just close your eyes cause it lies deep in your heart, yeah

Part of me laughs
Part of me cries (I cry)
Part of me wants to question why (question why)
What is there joy
Why is there pain
Why is there sunshine then the rain (shine in the rain)
One day you're here
Next you are gone
No matter what we must go on (I will)
Just keep the faith
And let love lead the way (lead the way)
Everthing will work out fine
If you let love, love lead the way

Love lead the way

A Society That Demeans Women

About one month to go is our final exam and finally can go back to Bintulu. Yeah…. Nothing much to say this time but just wanna share one of my reflections for my Moral project. Enjoy!!

Harassment is defined as the act of systematic and/or continued unwanted and annoying actions of one party or a group, including threats and demands. The purposes may vary, including racial prejudice, personal malice, and an attempt to force someone to quit a job or grant sexual favors, apply illegal pressure to collect a bill, or merely gain sadistic pleasure from making someone fearful or anxious. Such activities may be the basis for a lawsuit if due to discrimination based on race or sex, a violation on the statutory limitations on collection agencies, involve revenge by an ex-spouse, or be shown to be a form of blackmail ("I'll stop bothering you, if you'll go to bed with me"). The victim may file a petition for a "stay away" (restraining) order, intended to prevent contact by the offensive party. A systematic pattern of harassment by an employee against another worker may subject the employer to a lawsuit for failure to protect the worker. Nowadays, harassment among the women has been a very common issue that seems to be never each the end.

The main reason why harassment among women occurs is due to discrimination. Women are degraded by men who think that they are better than them. They are treated as second class where most of their wants and desires are restrained. Women are used as objects which can be traded as they want to. Typically, women are used as sex objects for men to plead their pleasure. You see, how “rational” are the men today serve the women? I thought what happened in the past will not be repeated in these civilized days. I am scared that I am totally wrong. I mean, refer back to history of Islamic country back to Mecca. (Gosh, I am talking about History here. I don’t include this quote in my project, mind you!) Before the introduction of Islam by the Prophet Muhammad, the society at that time lived aimlessly and believed in superstition. Worse, they degraded women seriously. They killed the newly-born baby girls as they thought girls were the black sheep of the family and only bring embarrassment. Rather than raising them up, the society at that time chose to put their lives to an end. Luckily, with the proper guidance and wise leadership of Prophet Muhammad, all these practice have finally put into rest. Nevertheless, when the media reports the molested girls, raped women, sexually abused wives, and harassed female workers, apparently, we are going back to that uncivilized era again.

Now I understand why there is an act that has been set up to protect the women. It’s not that the women are too weak and helpless in defending themselves. It’s just a human nature that they need legal enforcement in preventing, no; it should be minimizing the men from abusing the women at their whim and fancy. At least they will be facing charges if they really cannot control their lust, desires and sensations. So, the men should not be complaining for the absentee of rules or act to defend themselves because the foundation of the women’s act because of the men themselves.

As a conclusion, women are being protected under act and regulations prior to men abuse on them. Plus, a society that demeans women which give the pressure to the women’s lives really need a support to hang on to survive in this harsh world, the world that we have altered after God creates it beautifully in the first place for human being live in. Sadly, people tend to sin and makes the world like a horrible for us.

Penang Trip

The Penang trip was held by our Penang friends (on 18 until 20 February). I can say almost everyone from Moral Studies class came along for the trip. This is my first holiday with a big group of people, which is about 20 people. And of course, there are no parents to watch us. We are free to do anything. Haha!

First day, we went to Prangin Mall to have some shopping spree. Typical, I only have some sorts of window shopping. No much money to spend. At night, we have some sorts of BBQ at the beach and a little surprise for birthday girl that night, Liang Yi.

Next day, we went to Queensbay Mall and is much bigger than Prangin Mall. We went for a bit of sport by playing roller skates. I fell few times on my butt and it hurt!! I can feel that my muscle tear off! Akai….. (Iban exclamation for pain). At night, we went to Gurney Drive (I guess, not sure about the place’s name) to have dinner. Yeah, right….. Having Wan Tan Noodle, Laksa Penang and Ice Cendol. What a splendid dinner I have that night… and it’s raining yet still HOT!

Last day, we went to some restaurant (don’t know the name) for lunch, eating Nasi Kandar. Haha…. RM 15 for that. This makes me spend about RM200 for these three days where majority is on food.
Haha…. Can identify the pattern of the above three paragraphs? No? Never mind, just asking....

[BORING!!]

Chinese New Year is here!!

It’s Chinese New Year season again. But, sadly, I can’t go back home due to the limited days of holiday. In fact, it is not economical to spend money buying flight ticket for the sake of this. Anyway, I am gonna meet my family during the mid semester break in March afterwards. (Haha, I already book the ticket!!)

I follow one of my friends, Chua Wee Kheng back to his home in Puchong, Selangor. He just moved here last year. So, not many friends to visit over. (Actually, he does not have the chance to meet one!) Eventually, instead of staying at home, we went out. We went to Mines Shopping Mall and Mines Wonderland on the first day. Have a little boat ride which is so boring and walk around the mall, obviously. What a coincidence there is a special exhibition from China in conjunction of this year Olympic in Beijing. So, lots of things to see. And of course, we have the opportunity to see the performance from China as well such as dances, acrobatics, ballet and so on. Besides, we also spent those CNY days at mall, Midvalley Megamall. Kinda having window shopping and oh ya! Having my first Burger King meal there. Well, I guess this year CNY celebration is a whole new experience to me. Haha!

Hey, I am not sure what is wrong but everytime I would like to insert the caption at the center of the picture, it always moves to the side after being posted. What a new and OUTDATED guy I am.

Anyway, back to the pictures:
